MOSS 2007 Content Deployment
I think everyone who has ever dealt with content deployment knows that it is a headache from start to end.

Below is a few things to keep in mind when setting up CD

  1. ALWAYS make sure that the DNS server IP on the destination and Source sever is the same - I had issues with CD until we found that the DNS server IP address were not the same. Sounds simple, but one sometimes overlook certain things
  2. Use an AD account that has permissions to read and write from and to the source and destination server. VERY IMPORTANT. This kept me busy for a long time.
  3. Several images were released with the Beta 2 version of MOSS that were not released with the RTM version. These will generate errors and the object of the error will indicated below the error message - like example below in bold. Simply delete the files that cannot be found.

  4. Make sure you have both destination and source servers exactly the same - all service packs installed and install the MOSS high level roll out packages - see links below.

BE SURE to read the install instructions for the roll out packages.

That is all I have on CD for now. If you have any other info regading successfully setting up Content Deployment, PLEASE do post it here!!

Ciao!
Wim
